El Tiburon Casitas

5 stars for rooms, service and location doesn't even do it justice. This place is amazing and the proprietor--Liz--is beyond amazing. 8 nights in October 2023 in one of the casitas for a married couple. Everything you would expect is in the room--drinking water, dishes, coffee machine and filters...the list goes on. The staff has been doing this for a while and there is no problem they can't handle. We had a minor $$USD cash emergency--oh no not enough local pesos. Liz walked us through it and helped solve our problem. You can walk to a different restaurant for a nice meal and never repeat the same place twice--location is the best! Beach, bars, barista, ice cream, grocery store, shopping--all easily right around the corner. Safe location, never felt threatened or anything uncomfortable. Our first time in Mexico so we did have some concerns--but nothing uncomfortable ever happened. Book this place and you will make friends and have a wonderful experience.

Incredibly beautiful, protected, and clean! Loved learning local lessons from Liz, petting the adorable guard dogs, and enjoying the serene outdoor areas of El Tiburon Casitas - and the incredible staff! And an INCREDIBLE movie collection! This is so much more than just a place to stay. Liz can connect you with the best local options for food, rentals, tours, guides, shopping, etc. A long-time resident, she has a deep knowledge of the town’s culture, and also the wildlife, park, and nearby natural wonders. Can’t wait to come back - thanks Liz!

When I say that Liz (the owner of El Tiburon Casitas) is the best, it’s not an understatement. From when we started planning the trip through the our last minutes there, Liz made sure that our group of 12 (a mix of kids & adults) had everything they needed. She made us feel so at home at the casitas and Loreto. It’s clear that she loves the town and wants to share the best of it with people who visit. The pictures don’t do it justice. There is space to relax and have quiet time to oneself as well and to lounge around the pool. Alita the guard dog might spend time with you as well. The location could not be beat. You are walking minutes to the Malecon, the town square (where there could be music or a market), and to so many good restaurants. Liz will make you love Loreto and make you want to come back!

Great location, as El Tiburon is just a 5 minute walk to the center plaza or to the malecon, and many great restaurants are within a 10 minute walk. Very clean, with daily housekeeping, and very supportive beds. The frosting on the cake is owner, veterinarian, and super-responsive host Liz, who will help you plan your trip and guide you during your stay! Liz has good reason to be passionate about this cohesive, traditional small Baja town, the gateway to a world-class UNESCO marine preserve. I enjoyed a tour to Mission San Javier, a private taxi tour to the beaches of the Bay of Conception to the north, and an amazing snorkel tour to Carmen Island with Blue Nation.

Had the most fabulous time at El Tiburon Casitas! The service and staff are great, casitas are beautiful and spotlessly clean. The common patio area and swimming pool are perfect to hang around and meet other guests. The owner, Liz, arranged multiple days of whale watching for us with multiple different boat captains, taxi drivers, etc which made our trip effortless and super fun. She is incredibly knowledgeable about the area. Pro tip: you can only book directly through ETC, call or email the owner and you’ll get a fast response. Thank you El Tiburon Casitas!!!

This may very well be the best accommodations I have ever had. It’s charming, sparkling clean, perfectly situated for anything you want to do in Loretto, and the host is kind, entertaining, and incredibly helpful. The casitas are extremely comfortable.

Our group just completed a week's stay in the Casitas of el Tiburon and we couldn't have been happier with the place and the people. The proprietress (Liz) has her finger on everything you could possibly need/want in Loreto and she was able to put us onto a great boat for whale watching as well as a terrific fishing (and catching) experience. Would not hesitate to stay there again. Some of the furnishings in the casitas may hearken back a few years, but everything was in good nick and charming, and the kitchen was very complete. A little tip: ask Liz to arrange a golf cart for you -- it really opens up the town and enables many more neat experiences.

I consider myself lucky to have found the Casitas! They were clean, had all the amenities that I could have asked for, and the proprietor, Liz, is absolutely terrific. She really helped calm any anxieties I had about finding my way around, and the Casitas always made me feel like I had somewhere safe and comfortable to come back to after a day's adventure!
